Three new community awards have been
announced to recognize exemplary volunteer service
and partnership in the City of Plano’s environmental
programs. They include: Environmental Volunteer of
the Year, Environmental Community Outreach and
Environmental Community Partnership. The deadline
for nominations is April 12, 2007.

must be included with each nomination and must be
submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 12
by a third-person nominator or by self-nomination.
Two awards are specifically geared
to honor individuals. The Environmental Volunteer of
the Year Award recognizes a person who has
volunteered with the Sustainability and
Environmental Services department programs, and
whose service has greatly enhanced the City of
Plano’s environmental outreach in the community.
The Environmental Community Outreach
Award distinguishes an individual who has been
instrumental in reaching out to the community to
further and promote environmental and sustainability
programs or issues benefiting Plano.
The Environmental Community
Partnership Award recognizes the efforts of an
organization who has partnered with the City of
Plano to accomplish an environmental objective that
benefits the community, or motivates residents to
take action to protect the environment.
The 2007 Environmental Community
Awards Celebration will be held from 6:00 p.m. to
8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8 at the Conference Center
of the Spring Creek Campus, Collin County Community
College District, 2000 E. Spring Creek Pkwy. at
Jupiter Rd.
