TEXAS MUSIC SERIES STARTS THURSDAY AT AMPHITHEATER IN PLANO Half-price General Admission Tickets Offered
Two of Texas’ most popular performing songwriters,
Terri Hendrix and Ruthie Foster, are bringing their
all-star bands to play on the red carpet at Plano’s new
Amphitheater at Oak Point Park this Thursday, June 14,
2007 at 7:30 pm. The smoke-free family concert opens a
season of five Texas Music Sundown Concerts at the
Amphitheater at Oak Point, an open air venue located at
2801 East Spring Creek Parkway.
In order to make the concerts affordable for the whole
family, the presenters are offering half-price general
admission tickets to all five concerts. The advertised
general admission price for each concert is $25 in
advance and $30 at the gate. With this special offer,
the same ticket is now available for $12.50 in advance

the close of the ticket office during the June 14
concert.
The 2007 concert series crackles with excitement,
featuring a wide array of musicians guaranteed to
provide the best in Texas music. In addition to the June
14 performance by Terri Hendrix and Ruthie Foster, the
following artists will be performing in the Sundown
series: Tom Russell and Eliza Gilkyson (July 12); Jimmy
Lafave and Gary P. Nunn (August 9); Billy Jonas and
Trout Fishing in America (September 6); Albert & Gage
and Kelly Willis (October 11).
Both Hendrix and Foster have created considerable
excitement across the U.S. and Canada over the past
decade for their versatility and the remarkable
virtuosity of their bands. With nine albums under her
belt, San Antonio native Terri Hendrix fills her show
with great music, homespun charm and humor. With a
musical show stopping gospel style, Ruthie Foster has
played at dozens of the largest music festivals in the
nation and Canada, with many of her six CD’s or original
music reaching the top of numerous “best of” critic and
airplay lists. More on these, and each of the Texas
Music Sundown Concerts performers can be found at
www.planostages.com
The concerts play rain or shine, unless severe weather
forces cancellation due to safety concerns. Ticket
holders at a rained-out concert will be provided a
voucher for a future concert.
Gates, food service and box office open at 6:30 pm for
each concert. Parking is free. No coolers or picnic
baskets are permitted. Artist CD’s, concert t-shirts and
souvenir cups will be for sale.
