Plano Municipal Court Opens Western Plano Location for Clerk Windows
On Monday, July 9, Plano residents will have a new
convenient option of handling City citations on the
western side of Plano. Two clerical cashier windows will
be open for service at the Joint Use Facility, 7501-A
Independence Parkway. The windows will be operated
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Most options for addressing citations including
payments, Driving Safety Course and Deferred Disposition
requests, requests for a court date and initial first
extensions may be handled at this new location. Limited
staff will be available at the new location, so more
complex issues should be addressed at the main Municipal
Court office at the Raymond Robinson Justice Center, 900
E. 15th St. In particular residents needing to qualify
for payment plans MUST go through the Court Collections
Unit at the main Municipal Court office.
In 2005, the Plano Municipal Court integrated its case
management system with a software application for
imaging and workflow. Municipal Court Administrator
Vicki Smith said, “The new location will continue to
support ‘Live Green in Plano’ by continuing to work in a
paperless environment, which has been one key factor in
making the western service location an option for Plano
residents.”
