Mayor Phil Dyer has announced the appointment of Deputy City ManagerLaShon D. Ross to the position of Interim City Manager effective February 1, 2011.
Ms. Ross will serve in this capacity until a permanent replacement for retiring City
Manager Thomas H. Muehlenbeck is announced. Muehlenbeck will end his tenure
January 31, 2011.
Ms. Ross joined the City of Plano as Human Resources Director in March
2001, serving solely in that capacity until February 2009 when she was promoted to
Assistant City Manager. She was named Deputy City Manager for the Community
Services Business Center in July 2010 and in this capacity currently has oversight
responsibilities for the Library System, the Parks and Recreation Department, the
Human Resources Department, and the Office of Risk Management.
Ms. Ross received her Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Texas
A&M – Texarkana, completing a Masters of Science in Counseling at Southern
Methodist University in 2010. Prior to coming to Plano she served as Human
Resources Director for the City of Texarkana, Texas for twelve of the thirteen years
she was employed there.
